SoloCam C210 - Why does the system sometimes miss recording events?
Modified on: Wed, 10 Dec, 2025 at 11:28 AM
- The camera utilizes a passive infrared (PIR) sensor to detect motion from moving objects that emit body heat. Objects such as moving bushes or leaves in a breeze do not emit body heat relative to the environment, so these types of objects do not trigger the PIR sensor or wake up the camera.
- Only moving objects that enter the PIR sensor’s detection zone will trigger the camera to start recording. To set the desired detection range, you can set the sensitivity level according to the sensitivity setup guide.
- If the camera is placed behind a glass or a weatherproof box, the PIR sensor will not be able to detect moving objects. Make sure there are no obstacles or transparent materials placed in front of the camera.
- The camera will not detect duplicate motion events in order to save battery when set to Optimal Battery Life mode. If you expect to not miss any events, set the working mode to Optimal Surveillance or Customized, at the same time, the battery will drain faster than previous settings.
