What Is iPath Laser Navigation Technology?

iPath Laser Navigation Technology uses Lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) laser, which is a pulsed laser sensor that emits pulsed light waves into the surrounding environment. These pulse light waves reflect off objects in the surrounding environment and return to the receiver on the device. In order to accurately determine ranges, the sensor calculates the time each pulse light wave took to return to the sensor to compute the relative distance each signal traveled. The information collected by the sensor then forms a set of data points, known as a point cloud, to create a precise map of the environment.

How Does iPath Laser Navigation Technology Work on RoboVac?

iPath Laser Navigation Technology uses a Lidar laser sensor to efficiently learn your home’s surrounding environment and create a precise real-time map on the RoboVac’s initial cleaning cycle. Once a map has been created, the RoboVac is able to intelligently navigate and thoroughly clean in a systematic path to achieve spotless cleaning results.
